Activation + Live Mural at Summit LA19 - Nov 2019

Join artist Sheila Darcey @SketchPoetic as she creates a live mural in collaboration with Summit attendees. Be a part of the process by making your own mark on the mural or stop by to watch the process unfold. This collaborative art piece will capture the energy of Summit LA19 and serve as a visual memento of this incredible event.

She also invites you to express your emotions in a fun and creative way. Begin by visualizing the emotions you hide from the world using markers as your medium. With paper masks serving as the canvas and metaphor, tap into your childlike wonder and release the emotions you are masking within. Pin the mask on a wall to share with others or wear the mask at our mask charade mixer on Sunday for the big reveal.

Art On A Loop (Raising Funds For Education Through Music - Los Angeles) - Aug 2019

One morning while sitting down for his morning coffee, composer Ronen Landa noticed visual artist Sheila Darcey (IG: @sketchpoetic) completing one of her daily sketch meditations and was immediately struck by her unique style. Over the course of their conversation they realized that they view their work through a similar lens: art has the power to heal our spirit and bring people together.

They released their multimedia album “Art on a Loop” on Bandcamp, featuring music, videos and the final artwork. All proceeds from the album benefit Education Through Music-Los Angeles, which works to provide a comprehensive music education to disadvantaged children in local schools. | |

Artist Spotlight: MAW - Moms at Work - May 2018

"Moms At Work" profile for Demarest Photography.

This is a new project by Demarest Photography called MAW, Moms at Work.

"I have always had a deep sense of respect for moms who are not only able to maintain their passion careers but are able to successfully balance those passion careers with their family responsibilities. As an artist and mom I know how hard it has been for me to find that balance and I wanted to hear more stories from other moms. Since last fall I have connected with many Badass Moms, took their portraits and heard their stories." - Denise Demarest

Artist Spotlight: Thalia Magazine - May 2018

"Women of Thalia" profile for Thalia magazine.

Thalia is an arts and literature magazine featuring content produced exclusively by women. The idea for Thalia was conceived in December 2017, a turbulent (but hopeful) year for women, the arts, and women in the arts. Inspired by this changing cultural climate. We are separated by geography but linked by a desire to carve out room for female voices. Thalia is a new kind of creative space, built by and for women.

Sheila goes on to say that these designs are based on the exploration of letting go. “The beauty of art is in the process of creation itself. To be in the state of flow allows for unfiltered concepts and thoughts. It also serves as a way to connect with others in a way that brings forth your whole self. The goal of my art is to share this journey and make the process feel accessible to the masses."
