Art Commission & Donation: 2018 Purple Ball - October 2018
No More Kids with Cancer's annual event in Philadelphia was held on October 13th, 2018.
The Purple Ball celebrates survivors of childhood cancer, honors those who are trailblazers making change in childhood cancer and raises money and awareness for groundbreaking childhood cancer research. Over the last two years, this event has raised over $480,000 for childhood cancer research, and funded 2 research grants. 100% of the proceeds goes towards childhood cancer research.

Workshop with Alexa Meade for 29 Rooms @ Refinery29 - July 2018
In an effort to create an immersive storytelling experience that is both playful and profound, Refinery 29 staged the pop-up interactive fun house “29 Rooms” to sold-out audiences in New York. Designed to inspire creativity as well as action, the event was first produced three years ago as a way for the media company, which focuses on women, to present its most popular content in a different way.Two-dimensional art becomes a 3-D interactive experience in Alexa Meade's room titled "Become a Masterpiece". It arrives in Chicago July 26-29.

The idea for Thalia was conceived in December 2017, a turbulent (but hopeful) year for women, the arts, and women in the arts. Inspired by this changing cultural climate. We are separated by geography but linked by a desire to carve out room for female voices. Thalia is a new kind of creative space, built by and for women.

Selected Creative Consciousness piece titled "Into the Fire" as part of the collective show at the Burning Man Center Camp Café. This show hosts some of Black Rock City’s most talented artists.
The Center Camp Café rises each year as one of the biggest and brightest stars in the Vault of Heaven that is Black Rock City. Located in Center Camp, the Café is the largest temporary freestanding tensile shade structure in the world. With almost an acre of shade, a full-service coffee shop, two stages, and interactive art installations, the Café is one exhibit you won’t want to miss. The fabulously lighted, entertainment-filled structure is a required stop on every evening stroll through the city.

Sheila Darcey is a Filipino artist who grew up in Brisbane, Australia and now lives in Venice, California. Art has always been her first love, but for the last 20 years she has focused her attention on building a career as a digital innovator and business consultant. She has recently returned to her artistic roots and studied the transformation of nature into the subconscious. This process requires leaving any pre-conceived ideas. Instead, focusing only on the creation process. It's a daily exercise that has evolved into meditative practice. Her goal is to introduce this process to others through art collaborations, so they can experience this state of flow and the healing power of creative expression.
